To coincide with the Irish Bouldering Championship, we are organizing a fun, social comp for all our regular climbers and anyone who wants to come along and enjoy the spectacle of the National Championship, but doesn't quite feel up to entering!
The comp will take place around the circuits area, with problems ranging from font 4 (green circuit) to around 6c. There will be 20 problems to have a try at. The event is designed for teams of 4 people, to include at least 1 female. The format will be '1000 points', i.e. each problem is worth 1000 points, which get split between everyone who completes it. You have unlimited attempts to try the problem. Prizes will go to the highest scoring team and there will be spot prizes too.
Juniors over 14 who are registered to climb independently at Gravity, and juniors under 14 accompanied by a climbing parent may enter, but there will not be separate problems for juniors.
Entry is €2pp, plus regular admission fee, but entry and admission is FREE to anyone who enters the IBC & doesn't progress past qualification. Any IBC competitor, junior or senior who progressed past the qualification round may not enter!
We hope everyone will come along and join us, climb some great problems and stay around to watch the IBC final taking place at 5.30 pm on our comp wall. The final is a spectacular event, with the top climbers in Ireland battling for a place on the podium- expect some amazing performances!
